The Beard Bids Farewell… (or A Cause To Celebrate Part II)
In a few weeks my favorite coffeehouse (World Cup Espresso Cafe) is going to be hosting a benefit for kids with cancer. The organization behind it is named St. Baldricks. People raise money for the cause (while also showing solidarity with the kids affected by cancer) by volunteering to shave their heads. So that being said, I’d like to let it be known that I will be shaving it down on April 12th! As an added bonus - the beard I’ve been collecting for the past 6 months is going too! If nothing else, the beard has got to bring some dollars in for this worthy cause. Here is the website where you can donate in my name (and in my beard’s name). You can also see a pic of the current status of my beard (taken just one week ago). If you are in the Topeka area you can stop by World Cup (21st and Washburn) and grab a latte and give to St. Baldricks. Word on the street is that Don (the owner of World Cup as well as my boss) will be shaving his head if we can raise $1000… sounds like a challenge to me… anyone up for that? Thanks for giving! - Kyle
